CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy is to provide a creative and supportive environment for young adults to grow as musicians and people. Our High School Division is unique in that it offers a residential pre-college experience with a comprehensive offering of music courses, as well as non-music courses, taught by Ithaca College faculty and top music educators from across the country.

Our Intermediate Division provides young musicians with the opportunity to work with renowned faculty in a fun and supportive environment. Our electives have been carefully designed to allow students interested in pursuing careers in music the experiences needed to hone and expand upon their interests, as well as investigate new areas of interest. The program is also designed to give students whom do not wish to pursue a career in music the option to have a quality summer music experience.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Located within a beautiful private campus setting, the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy utilizes abundant college resources, including state-of-the-art facilities and world-class faculty, for a true college preparatory experience.

The coed program offers an array of music electives designed for specific music interests including: performance, music education, sound recording technology, composition, jazz, and non-music electives. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Yomawha features beautiful woodlands, a mountain stream, a lake for boating, private swimming pool, climbing wall, state-of-the-art playground and various athletic fields. In this country-like setting, campers ages 5 to 15 enjoy use of the swimming pool and private lockers dedicated to the Y, with instruction in the morning and free swim in the afternoon.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer campers a wide variety of challenging, enjoyable and stimulating activities in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. Activities include sports, arts & crafts, nature study, boating, climbing wall, hiking, music, drama, and more! Throughout the summer, camp is filled with entertainers and special days to add to the fun. Our expert activity specialists, fully trained counselors and professional supervisory staff are all there to ensure your child has a safe, nurturing and fun summer.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The CIT Program at Camp Yomawha is a summer-long leadership training workshop where young adults will learn the importance of being strong leaders and positive role models. This program includes skill building trips outside of camp, hands-on work with younger campers and community service components. Being a part of this program is not just about building better counselors, it’s about building stronger leaders.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers attending Shankitunk for a week of summer fun will be assigned to one of our 15 rustic wooden cabins along the meadows edge. We have an outdoor swimming pool, low ropes course, basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, craft hall, recreation pavilion, soccer field, archery range, Science Center, bathhouse with hot water and showers, maintenance shop, hiking trails, and river access for nature exploration.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: 4-H Camp Shankitunk is the oldest continuously operating 4-H camp in New York State. We first opened in 1927 as a vacation getaway for farm children in Delaware County, and have been providing a memorable experience for campers from all over the state and even other states ever since.

Our program has many rich traditions that have inspired grown campers to send their children back and even their grandchildren. Our chicken BBQ dinner, visit from the Delaware County Dairy Princess, closing candle ceremony, songs, class options, friendships, and flag salute are just a few. We hire a staff of approximately 40 each year, many of whom have been with us since they were old enough to attend Shankitunk themselves, but we love to welcome new faces into our camp family too. Imagine the fun you could have with us at Shankitunk this summer!

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Shankitunk does offer a CIT program for campers age 14 and older who are interested in becoming future counselors. Campers complete level one in team-building, level two in communication and self reflection, and then attend a two week program where they devote all of their class time the first week to becoming a counselor and spend the second week shadowing a counselor to apply what they have learned. FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Shankitunk hosts many other events for children and adults throughout the year, including a STEM Camp, A forestry weekend, a 4C adult camp, and is available for rental as well for field days, etc.

A non-refundable Registration Fee of $50 must accompany each application. No audition is required to enroll. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. CAMP FACILITIES: Schodack is nestled in a picturesque wooded valley in the foothills of the Berkshires, our beautiful campus of flat, grassy playing fields is surrounded by acres of our own stunning, private forest. Our cabins are clean, airy and spacious buildings with private toilets and showers in each cabin. We have two heated swimming pools, a lake for boating, dining hall, Rec Hall, Playhouse, Ropes course, amphitheater, Culinary Arts studio, fitness center, ball fields and courts and a hilltop horse corral.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Krouner family has been on this beautiful 100-acre site since 1909 when Sam and Lena Krouner operated a dairy farm, which later became Krouners Hotel. Their son, Lou, and his wife, Clara, converted the hotel into Camp Schodack in 1957; and their son, Paul, and his wife, Linda, became owner/directors in 1970. In 2012, after a lifetime of summers at Schodack, their son Matt became a full-time owner/director…four generations of continuous and dedicated family leadership!

Every camper becomes part of our Schodack family! CAMP FACILITIES: Our SUNY Purchase College location is a sprawling 500-acre campus located in the heart of beautiful Westchester County. It offers endless acres of playing fields, training areas, and 2 new floodlit turf, football, and baseball fields. As many as six full soccer fields, 12 short-sided fields, and NCAA regulation baseball and softball diamonds are expertly maintained for daily use. Facilities also include 14 newly-surfaced deco tennis courts (6 lighted), 3 full indoor, and 3 outdoor basketball courts.

Campers will also utilize 3 air-conditioned indoor gymnasiums, racquetball and squash courts, training rooms, an Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, a newly-renovated performance center, and a video analysis room.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) combines the fun of being a participant with important life skills such as leadership, personal development, teamwork, and communication, all under the watchful eyes of our experienced educators and coaches.

Working with guidance from our camp and program director(s), YLP participants will observe and assist in all aspects of the camp program and daily activities, while receiving performance feedback in a constructive environment, helping to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

CAMP FACILITIES: NYC Elite UWS is a 13,500 square foot facility that includes equipment for all 4 Olympic events (floor, beam, bars, and vault), as well as a giant foam pit, ball pit, trampolines, and more fun equipment for your child to bounce on!

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Educational Programming in Citywide Private and Public School in over 30 institutions and schools

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. Our camp resides on a gently rising hillside, thus providing us with the physical basis for our motto, "The Magic on the Hill."

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our historic facility was built in 1929 and is home to a recently renovated 145-seat proscenium theater where campers rehearse and perform showcases for friends and family. Campers swim in our facility’s heated pool under close supervision from swim instructors, camp counselors and lifeguards. Visual arts activities occur in the Arts Annex, and campers utilize multi-purpose rooms throughout the YMCA for instruction and activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Arts Camp's 2018 theme is ART AS ENERGY. "Giving children tools on how to interpret their experience in a body, helps empower them to make decisions. They learn to listen to themselves and direct their energy in a conscious way that will allow them to settle into themselves and their authentic power." (Leanne Holitza). This summer, we will focus on 4 energetic centers in the body and how these energy centers may inspire artistic expression, creativity, and community. We will begin at the naval center with an exploration of courage, determination, and commitment. Next, we move to the heart to explore harmony, peace, love, and compassion. Third, we move to the throat center to explore communication, self-expression, listening, and truth. Finally, we land on the 3rd eye, where campers will meditate on intuition, vision, wisdom, balance, and curiousity.

On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater. Throughout the summer in all 4 art forms, students explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art as it relates to the summer's over-arching program theme. In addition to arts classes, all campers swim twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and, weather permitting, enjoy Central Park for lunch, fresh air, yoga, and team-building creative activities.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Our summer camp is only as good as the staff it hires. That is why we search the globe for the most experienced and enthusiastic staff members we can find. From England to Australia and California to Maine, our staff consists of about fifteen different nations and over twenty states. Everyone comes together with one goal in mind; to make sure our campers have the best summer of their lives!

We are looking for general counselors, specialist counselors, leadership positions, and support staff for the upcoming summer. General counselors spend the day with their division of campers; guiding, supporting, and supervising them as they go from activity to activity.

As a specialist, you concentrate on a specific area, passing on your knowledge to our campers to ensure they are learning or mastering that skill. The leadership roles we fill each summer range from department heads and group leaders to medical staff and office assistants. Lastly, our support staff members work behind the scenes as kitchen staff, maintenance workers, groundskeepers, and housekeepers to ensure the day to day operations of camp are handled.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our natural wooded setting, outstanding facilities, and breathtaking waterfront provide campers endless opportunities for outdoor fun.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers enjoy a balanced schedule that includes group periods and choice periods each day. During group periods, campers participate in group activities that ensure group bonding and a well-rounded summer. Choice periods provide campers a customized Walden experience, with more time and instruction in the activities they love most.

Walden also has many exciting special days that differ from our regular schedule! Our campers enjoy awesome trip days to places such as Six Flags amusement park. We also have many Special Event Days including Carnival, Big/Little Day, and Superbowl Sunday among many others. Walden campers additionally enjoy camp traditions such as Tribals in the first session and Color War during the second session. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers stay in secure, clean, modern corridor-style residence halls dedicated to summer campers. Males and females are housed in separate buildings. When not in class or practice, students have lots of fun participating in a variety of recreational activities including outdoor games like "Capture the Flag" and "Ultimate Frisbee," indoor games, movies, visits to a nearby lake for picnics and campfires, hikes, relaxing and socializing at the village Coffee House and each camp closes with a farewell party the last night of their camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each building is staffed by a Head Camp Counselor and 4 camp counselors who are are specially trained to serve as positive role models, mentors and friends. They provide out-of-classroom supervision throughout the week.

With Alfred University's excellence in teaching and coaching, along with their commitment to offering quality programming, these are among the most educational and fun summer programs in the country.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our facilities bring a little rustic charm to the camping experience. We embrace our location in the Adirondacks, and cherish the beauty if the outdoors in all that we do. Our campers stay in cabins until grade 8 and in platform tents through high school. We have a fabulous lake for swimming, boating and enjoying our water trampoline and slide. Campers who want to try new activities can have a try at our 30 ft high rock wall, our trapeze, or our zip line.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: One of the greatest programs at Camp Cedarbrook is our wilderness adventure trips, where campers can hike or canoe the great spacious outdoors the Adirondacks have to offer. Our trip programs challenge girls to push the limits of their physical abilities and have a great time doing it. Girls in high school can also take part in our Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)program or our Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program. Over a span of two summers, girls will learn to lead and guide young campers. The program is an opportunity for teens to learn responsibility, leadership and hard work.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership and Education Development (LEAD) and CILT (Campers in Leadership Training) are both a one summer leadership development program for high school girls. LEAD is first and for those wanting more training they can continue with CILT. There is an emphasis on supervised leadership training in a camp setting. It includes class sessions, Bible study, a wilderness trip, and lots of hands-on experience in leading girls. This program is for those interested in serving God and others through a leadership role.

CAMP FACILITIES: Forrestel is located on a sprawling 800 acre farm with a variety of landscape features. Campers enjoy a large number of activities on our fields, streams, woodlands and campground. The buildings include a beautiful 1825 Greek Revival farmhouse, barn complex, eating house, tennis court, indoor arena, many outdoor rings and our campsite with modern shower house and large fire pit. The campers are housed in tent cabins. New in 2014 is our first cabin for the youngest campers located adjacent to the shower house.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Forrestel’s horseback riding programm is a very unique one, which offers 2 programs; Horsemanship 1 and Horsemanship 2.

Our international and local riding counselors are all qualified, experienced and passionate about teaching our campers to ride. The campers are taught on one of Forrestel’s family owned, well schooled horses, who are carefully matched to the child with age, size, ability and experience taken into consideration. Campers also have the option of bringing their own horse/pony with them to camp.

Riding instruction at Forrestel includes structured ring work and cross country riding. Our campers can choose to focus on different areas of their riding which can include; hunt seat equitiation, dressage, eventing, cross country and show jumping.

We also have our speciality horsey activities, which are all firm favourites. They include pony club games, trail riding, trips to the horse pond and overnight, and decorate a horse.

Within our Riding Program we also offer a stable management option, which includes all aspects of horse care from mucking out, trailer safety, preparing for shows, braiding and veterinary care.

Our 5 year old program also features a 'Mini Club' period which allows each group to select from a list of their favorite activities to participate in each day.

The STARFISH program not only supports our camp's mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends while building self-esteem; it creates a safe environment that makes accomplishing that mission possible. In addition to participating in our great range of traditional activities, our 8 year old campers get the chance to experience the excitement and spirit of teamwork associated with our 'Sports Leagues'. Sports Leagues begin on an every other day basis, alternating with a SECOND 'Club Elective' period. League Teams are divided equally, with the emphasis being put upon good sportsmanship and building self-esteem. We recognize that our older campers are looking for a more innovative and customizable summer experience so we give it to them! CAMP FACILITIES: Keuka College, located on the shores of Keuka Lake, boasts air-conditioned dorms, all-inclusive dining, the beautiful Norton Chapel for performances, rehearsal spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a library, all overlooking the water. Swimming and boating is supervised by life guards, all campers are supervised by trained counseling staff in small ratios.

CAMP FACILITIES: Kids stay in our 100 year old estate lodges. These buildings, equipped with bathrooms, kitchens, and comfortable bedding, allow kids to be away from home and challenge themselves without being worried about a raccoon climbing into their sleeping bag at night time.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Vanderkamp Center runs a summer camp program that is radically different from any you'll find anywhere else. Just ask the folks at campingcoasttocoast .com, who called it a "one of a kind, magical place." These consultants loved our philosophy so much that they dropped everything to work here this summer, in 2014!

What makes Vanderkamp so different is that it treats children as true equals - getting rid of rules designed for adult convenience, and focusing on helping children to love themselves for exactly who they are. By helping children employ wise freedom, the growth seen by kids at Vanderkamp is really unlike anywhere else. While rules designed for adult convenience are discarded, Vanderkamp takes physical and emotional intimidation incredibly seriously, and it has fostered an environment where this sort of bullying is nearly non-existent.

CAMP FACILITIES: Children live in wood-framed and screened cabins by age group, yet choose activities and wilderness trips individually. We have a wide range of activities in camp, and an extensive wilderness program - hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing throughout the Adirondack region.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The North Country Camps - Camp Lincoln for Boys and Camp Whippoorwill for Girls - are adventurous and fun full-season resident camps located in the Adirondack region of NY State. We offer a program that emphasizes individual choice, and we offer a wide range of activities in camp including horseback riding, sailing, canoeing, swimming, windsurfing, kayaking, bicycling, soccer, baseball, softball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, tennis, archery, art, drama, dance, and woodshop.

We also offer an extensive Wilderness Trip program. The trips -day trips, overnights, and 3, 4, 5 day trips - include hiking, backpacking, canoeing, bicycling, riding, and sailing. Campers live in cabin groups of five or six campers with one counselor. Overall camper:counselor ratio is 3:1. The majority of campers attend for the full 7 1/2 week season, and we also have a 5 week option. First-time campers may enroll for 3 weeks with the option to stay.

CAMP FACILITIES: Silver Lake is a picturesque camp, situated on over 300 acres of rolling green hills with a 96-acre private lake. Since opening in 2004, we have been busy improving and upgrading all of our facilities. During that time we have built all new bunks and renovated our basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. Our FasTracKids summer camps are educational and fun with 11 different weekly themes like World Travel, Anatomy of Me and Rainforest Exploration! Sign up for one week or all 12...the weeks do not have to be consecutive!

Five mornings aweek, from 9-12pm, children will interact with our SmartBoard Learning Station, engage in role play, do arts and crafts and experiments related to the week's topic. They will be having so much fun they won't even realize how much they are learning!

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Eye Level Math & English is our year-round program to help children ages 4-12 develop their math and English skills. This program is available at both locations.

FasTracKids Discoverers preschool program at our East side location is for children ages 3-4.

We also offer a G&T Test prep program for Kindergarten applicants in the fall at both of our locations.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
At Jeanne d’Arc, being a camp counselor means more than just a summer job, you join a family of friends as soon as you walk through our gate. You will be given a unique opportunity to work with incredible people from the U.S. and around the world in a magnificent setting, the Adirondack Mountains.

More than 40 counselors and staff members assist the director in the day-to-day operations of the camp. The camper-counselor staff ratio averages 3:1. As a staff member, you will be entrusted with someone’s most important possession, their child. We look for counselors who exhibit the maturity necessary to succeed in this role.

CAMP FACILITIES: We are The Hewitt School and have full use of our facilities including a play roof, gymnasium, music and art studios. We also enjoy Central Park's playgrounds and open spaces.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Clubhouse Camp goes swimming every Tuesday and Friday. We travel by hired coach bus to the Skyline Hotel where we have the entire penthouse pool area and locker rooms reserved for our camp and SwimJim swim school Instructors, Aquatics Director and Lifeguard. Teaching Artisans join our camp for speciality activities such as Chess, Music, Yoga and Science.

We have a top notch Security Coordinator and a Health Director. All of our camp counselors hold current CPR and /or First Aid certifications.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: New Country Day Camp is an oasis for children growing up in New York City. All of our campers and staff ride the camp bus from stops in North Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan to the beautiful Henry Kaufman Campgrounds on Staten Island. Our older campers spend their mornings with their friends in camp groups of kids their age. In their groups, they'll have an opportunity to try all of our camp programs. In the afternoons, campers spend time in program units which they choose independently on Mondays, and which last the week through Friday.

Any camper entering 2nd through 6th grade may choose from the following program units: Camping, Cooking, and Pioneering Or Science and Technology Or Sports Or Gymnastics Or Arts and Crafts Or Martial Arts Or Performing Arts. While we encourage our campers to try new program units each week, every child's independent decision making is highly respected by camp staff.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: West Side Y Arts Camp is an experiential summer of fun for ages 5.5 - 12. Arts Camp is a vibrant community-building experience in which campers explore their own creative expression in a safe and supportive environment. Children are grouped by age and together they take 5 classes each in DANCE, DRAMA, MUSIC, and VISUAL ARTS per 2-week session. That adds up to 20 hours of arts instruction every 2 weeks!

The summer is divided into four two-week sessions, each with its own organizing theme. Campers learn different styles and techniques in all 4 art forms all summer long with a focus on foundational skill building, development of original material, rehearsal, and performance. On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater.

The THEME for Summer 2017 is ARTS THROUGH TIME. In each program session, we will focus on a different historical period -- Ancient/Medievel, Renaissance/Middle Ages, Victorian/Colonial, and Modern Era -- and in each of the 4 art forms, explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art of that time. In addition to arts classes, all campers swim twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and, weather permitting, enjoy Central Park for lunch, fresh air, yoga, and team-building creative activities.
