CAMP FACILITIES: We have five cabins, recreation room, a heated outdoor swimming pool, lake, petting zoo, dining room, and Trading Post.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our staff are 21 years old and older and are all certified in CPR. They come in for a week of training before camp begins and are trained in lifting and transferring, feeding methods, diapering and showering, hygiene, what to expect and how to deal with certain behaviors, how to deal with seizures.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We do offer scholarships. Parents can contact the camp office either by e-mail or phone to request an application.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: The summer sessions are offered from June through August, and our weekend respite program is offered twice a month from Oct. to May.

These include Usdan�s campus center, The McKinley Amphitheater, a 1,000-seat state- of- the-art theater that houses the Festival Concerts. Now entering its 48th season, Usdan has introduced the arts to more than 60,000 young people, many of them on scholarship. No audition is needed for most courses, just an interest.

Usdan Center has been declared a �Best Of� camp by TimeOutNY/Kids, and by NY Metro Parents, and the Center has been profiled in feature articles in The New York Times and in Time Magazine. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Counselor's in Training (CIT)

CIT's are campers entering 10th grade. CIT's have the opportunity to work with different age groups each week to experience different ages, activities and counselors. In addition, there are "hands-on experiences" to better prepare you for the role of being a counselor. These include team-building, discussion sessions from your experiences from the week, etc.

Upon completion of the CIT program, you will be eligible to work at Woodmont in some capacity which will be determined at the beginning of our hiring season. A weekly out of camp trip is also included in the program.

CAMP FACILITIES: At Blessed Sacrament, King utilizes the gym, cafeteria, a number of classrooms, and the auditorium for indoor activities each day. In addition, we also utilize the newly renovated space underneath the church, which is another large space for games and activities during camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Kids in the Game Summer Camps are accredited by the American Camp Association. Kids in the Game Summer Camps are designed for girls and boys entering Pre-K4 through 8th grade in the fall. The campers are divided into small groups for athletic instruction according to skill level, previous experience, and age. CAMP FACILITIES: Each camp has its own waterfront with a fleet of canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and paddle boats that offers a wide variety of waterfront activities. Camp Lokanda, a 7 week traditional overnight camp located in upstate New York, is looking for qualified individuals to teach, coach and referee basketball for children ages 7-16.

CAMP FACILITIES: At Timber Lake West, Campers live in modern, paneled cabins called bunks. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space for each camper's belongings. Three to four counselors and eight to ten campers make up each bunk.

Campers make their beds, care for their own belongings and practice good personal hygiene. Our professional housekeeping staff maintains and sanitizes the bathrooms daily. A complete packing list and Parents' Manual make the process of preparing for camp as easy and convenient as possible.

The cabin or bunk is where campers learn to live together as a group, to share and to respect each other. We see bunk living as the core of the camp experience - central to our mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Timber Lake West's unique four-week summer camp program offers children a place to make new friends, try new activities and grow as a person. We believe that camp has to be safe and it has to be fun. That's what Timber Lake West is all about. We take all the fun, spirit, excitement and tradition of a full season camp experience and power pack it into four weeks.

Our athletic program includes clinics, instruction, inter-camp tournaments, and plenty of games played just for fun. We create the right balance between competition and good sportsmanship, allowing every camper to be comfortable joining in, while also promoting teamwork and spirit. At Timber Lake West, winning is great but our goal is that every camper walks off the field or court with more friends and feeling better about him or herself.

HARDCORE ATHLETICS:
Hardcore Sports is designed to provide extra instruction and drills in various sports for those campers who elect to work with extra intensity on their skills. The work-out sessions are held during an elective or swim period for those campers yearning to improve their skills, practice for upcoming tournaments or play at a higher level of competition. These campers get a chance to work on their mechanics through drills, practicing game situations, improving their mental preparation, building self-esteem and getting into or staying in great physical shape.

Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Our emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Our experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis, of course, on safety. Timber Lake West's two heated pools set us apart from others. Our Olympic size pool makes free swim a favorite activity while our completely private spring-fed lake, right in the heart of camp, provides the thrill of water-skiing and an extensive boating program, featuring instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, banana boating and water skiing.

Adventure at Timber Lake West comes alive when our campers challenge themselves to try activities they have never done before. Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, scaling our 35 foot climbing wall or soaring down our zip line, camp is meant to be an adventure.

Our low ropes course gives campers the opportunity to work together toward a common goal while building friendships, self-esteem and self-confidence.

As part of our program each bunk meets with our trained and experienced staff on our low ropes/team building course and on overnight camp outs. As a cohesive unit, the campers work together to accomplish the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the four week session.

Each day campers select two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts electives. Combined with our scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. In spite of all of the other choices that high school-aged children have in today’s world, the large majority of our campers choose to return to Timber Lake West all the way through the end of their Teen summers.

The Timber Lake West Teen Program begins with diverse programming, more day trips out of camp, more choice and flexibility daily, a later wake-up (they ARE teenagers, after all), many community service opportunities and strong staff and supervision. Our Teens alternate between a two-day Whitewater Rafting trip or a two-day trip to Hershey/Dorney Parks.

Our Teens are also part of our apprenticeship program in camp, through which they choose a specialty area and an age group with which they think they might like to work. For several hours each week, they will be assigned to work with these groups so that they can get a feel for coming back as Junior Counselors.

We provide structure, supervision, feedback and training so that they are successful AND prepared to be part of our staff!

For our LITs, we have adopted the CDOS (Continual Development of Skills) system, where every week a new skill will be introduced. Our leaders will need to practice the skill the whole week. This program is intended for our leaders to grow skills and practice them while working. CAMP FACILITIES: Our SUNY Purchase College location is a sprawling 500-acre campus located in the heart of beautiful Westchester County. It offers endless acres of playing fields, training areas, and 2 new floodlit turf, football, and baseball fields. As many as six full soccer fields, 12 short-sided fields, and NCAA regulation baseball and softball diamonds are expertly maintained for daily use. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: OUR PHILOSOPHY

Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Tuition and travel are offered on a sliding scale basis so all children can attend Camp SAY. To date, no child has been turned away from Camp SAY due to a family's inability to pay.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Camp offers Family Day where families visit campers, and in addition to welcoming kids & teens who stutter, we also welcome siblings and friends (ages 8-18).

OTHER CAMP INFO: Meals: Camp SAY provides a wonderfully balanced meal plan with great options that kids will enjoy. In addition to the delicious main meals, we provide tasty snacks at key times during the day. We can accommodate a broad range of food restrictions to ensure that your child’s experience at Camp SAY is truly memorable.

Talented Nursing Team: Your child’s safety and well being is our highest priority. Our camp is staffed by a full-time, on-site registered nurse who can properly dispense any family-provided medications and can access medical specialists as needed.

Traveling to Camp SAY: Campers come from all around the country and abroad. We work closely with families to make each child’s trip to Camp SAY as safe and enjoyable as possible. We schedule a chaperoned flight from the southeast to New York City. Children taking individual flights are welcomed at the gate by camp staff. Upon arrival at the airport, camp staff helps navigate baggage claim, arrange check-in for return flights, and board campers on the bus for a fun trip to Camp SAY.

Our Personalized Approach: In order to fully personalize your child’s camp experience, our team obtains detailed preferences in advance of camp from you and your child – from their activities to seemingly small yet important details. For example, children who have birthdays at Camp SAY are celebrated with a group birthday song and birthday cake.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The athletic program includes team sports and individual challenges. From basketball, softball, soccer and Frisbee to tennis, archery, biking and yoga, Ramah offers activities for all interests and skill levels. Older campers have the option to compete against other camps in varsity and junior varsity programs. They can improve their skill by learning from experts in our "Coaches-in-Residence" program. Yom Sport provides everyone with a day of friendly competition at all skill levels. We also offer a four day intensive sports clinic.

Ramah Berkshires campers enjoy swimming, boating and water play on beautiful Lake Ellis. The Red Cross certified waterfront staff instructs and guards our daily instructional swim periods, as well as free swim times. For older campers, we offer a lifeguard training certification. Our water trampoline, slide, "blob" and "Summit" add to the fun on the waterfront. Campers enjoy learning to kayak, canoe, and sail on the lake. Older campers have opportunities to participate in overnight boating adventures, as well.

Summer camp is about the great outdoors, and there's plenty of that at Ramah! Our Al Hagova specialists are trained to teach environmental values to campers through overnights and nature walks. Older campers experience multi-day bike trips and hiking trips. Campers of all ages look forward to "flying" through the air on our zip-line, or mastering climbing skills on our rock wall. Groups of campers learn to bond and cooperate while on our ropes course or hiking up Ramah Mountain. Our in-camp mountain bike trail is used by campers of all ages.

Jewish music and dance are keys to our program! Campers learn classic Israeli dances and songs, as well as modern pop tunes. Among the highlights of the summer are the Zimriyah (camp–wide song festival) and Rikudiah (dance festival). Drama specialists offer workshops in dramatic techniques and skills. Many camper edot (divisions) perform a musical play in Hebrew. Interested campers can opt for drama workshops. Those campers who love to sing can be part of our a cappella groups. Our staff and older camper a capella group performs each Friday evening, setting the mood as Camp ushers in Shabbat.

Experienced artists and art teachers transmit their love of arts and crafts and fine art throughout the summer. From painting, sculpting and papier mache to jewelry-making, woodworking and tallit-making, campers are introduced to a wide-range of activities and have the opportunity to hone their skills in areas of special interest. At various times during the summer, visiting artists share their specialties with our campers.

The multi-media center enables campers to explore photography, radio and film-making. Interested campers can improve their photography skills as they document the summer in pictures. They can anchor their own radio show on Camp's radio station, Kol Ramah (Voice of Ramah), that broadcasts throughout Camp. They can even film, direct, edit and produce movies under the guidance of our videography staff.

Interwoven into all aspects of camp life are Conservative Jewish values and Ahavat Yisrael, love of Israel. Campers participate in age-appropriate and meaningful daily prayer. Jewish learning factors into all aspects of the daily schedule, from sportsmanship to the Jewish view of saving the environment.
Integral to the Ramah community is the Mishlachat, educators and support staff from Israel who work in all aspects of camp life. They provide campers with a taste of Israel, exposure to Hebrew language, and an understanding of current events in the Middle East.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our oldest campers, entering eleventh grade in our Gesher division learn important leadership skills, spending time as counselors in training (CIT) by helping our youngest campers with their daily activities. These campers receive specialized training from the Ramah Staff, as well as on-going instruction from visiting specialists during the summer. This last year, Gesher—meaning bridge—allows these campers to envision themselves as models and leaders to younger campers.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We are committed to ensuring that no eligible camper is turned away due to financial hardship and to providing a Ramah experience for any camper who might not otherwise have been able to become part of our Ramah family. Camp Ramah offers financial assistance to campers and serves the Jewish community in cooperation with local synagogues and schools. The financial assistance process is strictly confidential. It begins with parents contacting their synagogue rabbi, educational director or other synagogue leaders. Please read about the process in our online application. Rabbi Resnick, our camp director, is available to assist parents in making the appropriate contacts.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Ramah in the Berkshires is the ideal location for your group to spend time together in a Jewish environment. Come experience the magic of “Ramah Shabbat” with your school, synagogue, or organization. Ramah Retreats also hosts B’nai Mitzvah, weddings, reunions and more. Our facility, only 70 miles from New York City, includes private "hotel-style" housing for adults to stay in the comfort of our newer facilities. All amenities can be tailored to meet your needs, and an onsite Ramah liaison is provided for every group to ensure the highest quality service during your stay.

OTHER CAMP INFO: For entering third graders, Ta’am Ramah (Taste of Ramah) gives first time campers an eight day “taste” of the Ramah experience, guided by nurturing, experienced staff for this first time sleep-away camp experience. Campers learn why so many children return to Ramah summer after summer and return home talking about next summer.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Camp has two sessions. The first session is approximately four weeks, while the second session is approximately three weeks. Campers entering 4th grade may only come for one session. Campers entering 5th through 8th grades may come for either one session or the entire summer. Campers entering 9th through 11th grades must attend for the entire summer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp DeWolfe is a place where young people are encouraged to be themselves, to grow in their Christ-like identity, to explore their God-given gifts and to enjoy making friends in a picturesque beach and waterfront setting.

EXPLORER CAMP (ages 7-11): July 5th – July 10th 2015 $595 per one-week session (Early Bird $495 before March 1st) A great way to introduce your child to camp! A 6 day camp designed for new elementary campers with taster sessions in activity areas including archery, swimming, and arts. Evening programs and Christian Formation sessions are tailored for new campers to make new friends and learn about God in a safe, fun and outdoor environment.

DISCOVERY CAMP (ages 8-12): July 12th – July 24th 2015 $1190 per two-week session (Early Bird $995 before March 1st) An engaging and energetic two-week camp for elementary youth to participate in a range of activities and programs on the Long Island Sound. Campers will be able to explore nature and build friendships, through interactive activities that center on God’s love and grace.

ADVENTURE CAMP (ages 12-15): July 26th – August 7th 2015 $1190 per two-week session (Early Bird $995 before March 1st) OR NEW July 26th - August 14th 2015 $1495 per three-week session (Early Bird $1295 before March 1st) A two-week or three-week camp program for middle school youth to enjoy a place apart from the busy world and to experience God’s love through nature, community, and challenge. Opportunities to develop skills in activities including sailing, wilderness skills and swimming. Christian Formation programs are designed to encourage youth to discover their faith in an open and caring environment.

DAY CAMP: July 7th – August 14th 2015: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm $250 per five-day session (must register in five-day session periods) A new Christian Day Camp for campers ages 7 – 14 to be able to enjoy God’s creation in the outdoor beach setting and make new friendships in a safe community. Opportunities to try swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, arts, sports and more! 5-day sessions are by age for safety and supervision.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: LIT - Leaders in Training - 5 week program for high school students.

LEADERSHIP IN TRAINING (LIT) (ages 15-17): July 12th – August 14th 2015 $1700 per five-week session (must attend all weeks) A challenging and advanced camp for high school youth to be empowered to discover their God-given potential and to grow in community. Opportunities to facilitate and lead a day camp program, master activity areas, develop new skills, and live out faith in practical and service-centred ways. Programs include Adventure Challenge workshops, solo reflection, and Christian Formation sessions that encourage youth to find true identity in God and learn how to lead others to Christ.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Yomawha features beautiful woodlands, a mountain stream, a lake for boating, private swimming pool, climbing wall, state-of-the-art playground and various athletic fields. In this country-like setting, campers ages 5 to 15 enjoy use of the swimming pool and private lockers dedicated to the Y, with instruction in the morning and free swim in the afternoon.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer campers a wide variety of challenging, enjoyable and stimulating activities in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. Activities include sports, arts & crafts, nature study, boating, climbing wall, hiking, music, drama, and more! Throughout the summer, camp is filled with entertainers and special days to add to the fun. Our expert activity specialists, fully trained counselors and professional supervisory staff are all there to ensure your child has a safe, nurturing and fun summer.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The CIT Program at Camp Yomawha is a summer-long leadership training workshop where young adults will learn the importance of being strong leaders and positive role models. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Clover Patch is a summer camp for individuals with disabilities where each camper is encouraged to reach his or her fullest potential. Since 1965, Clover Patch Camp has provided individuals with disabilities opportunities to make new friends, create everlasting memories, and experience a genuine camp setting.

Clover Patch Camp is operated by the Center for Disability Services, a non-profit organization consisting of a wide variety of programs designed to serve individuals with disabilities. Camp is located 30 minutes northwest of Albany, New York, in the town of Glenville. Serenaded by the constant trickle of the Alplaus Creek, it is home to nature trails, rustic cabins, and a heated swimming pool; all fully accessible.

Clover Patch Camp is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and is required to be inspected annually. Inspection reports are on file at: New York State Department of Health.

Clover Patch Camp offers programming that is typical of any summer camp.

From our accessible nature trails and rustic cabins to our heated swimming pool, every part of Clover Patch Camp is designed for inclusion, independence, and joy.

CAMP FACILITIES: RRDC offers every sports/arts activity imaginable, including Red Cross swim instruction and unique riverside boating.The brand new, fully enclosed junior pool highlights this state-of-the-art facility featuring three heated outdoor pools.

CAMP FACILITIES: NYC Elite UES is a 10,000 square foot facility that includes equipment for all 4 Olympic events (floor, beam, bars, and vault), as well as a giant foam pit, ball pit, trampolines, and more fun equipment for your child to bounce on!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Long Lake Camp for the Arts is a performing arts and fine arts camp combined for more summer fun! CAMP FACILITIES: We are located on the grounds of an old mansion turned independent school in St.James, NY. Our campus includes over 11 acres of fields and playgrounds, a pool, and outdoor classroom pond center. Our building includes many air conditioned classrooms used for activities and classes throughout the day.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The majority of our camp staff is chosen from graduates of our two year CIT program for students entering 9th and 10th grades. 9th Graders are placed in groups and learn how to manage the campers, the schedule, and the various trials and tribulations of any job. They also take a weekly class with our CIT coordinator. Those CIT's entering 10th grade enjoy added responsibility and leadership opportunities and have a weekly class with the Director of Summer Programs, during which they learn job skills such as resume building, interview skills, and public speaking.

All CIT's receive certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting through the Red Cross.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We offer a variety of discounts including Leap Frog (previous year's prices if registered/paid before Feb. 1st), Early Bird (registered/paid before April 24th), and Sibling (off of each additional child enrolled after the first camper for each week they are enrolled together).

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We have several activities for the families as well as for our campers. We have a large camp BBQ at the end of the season that includes food, music, a talent show, and presentations from the the various activities that the campers enjoy everyday (Music, Nature, Soccer, etc.). CAMP FACILITIES: We have more than 60 cabins, a lakefront boating and swimming area, an a-frame dining hall with a massive stone fireplace, a 3200 square-foot indoor rockclimbing center, 3 barns and horse pastures, indoor & outdoor classrooms, sports fields, tennis courts, basketball court, street hockey rink, pottery studio, archery range, low ropes course, team building course, and a 19th century working farm (with barns, vegetable gardens, animal pastures, maple sugarhouse, candlemaking cabin, blacksmith forge, woodshop, TreeHouse Nature center, and a one-room schoolhouse)

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Pok-O-MacCready Camps is one of the oldest summer camps in the world. In fact, our boys’ camp is the oldest in the United States having been privately owned and operated by the same family since its establishment in 1905. In 1967 our current director, Jack Swan, saw the need for a summer camp for girls and opened Camp MacCready. We are now one big family, combining our names to “Pok-O-MacCready” and operating as a traditional residential Adirondack summer camp for boys and girls ages six to sixteen.

The proximity of our summer camp to the Adirondack Wilderness Park grants us access to more than 6 million acres of woodland, rocks, rivers, lakes, and mountains to explore. We consider it a privilege to be able to share this gorgeous part of the country with our campers each summer, and enjoy fostering their love of the outdoors while teaching them stewardship for the environment.

Summer camp isn’t just for kids anymore! Want to experience camp for yourself and wrap it up into an inexpensive family vacation? It’s true! Many of our campers choose to stay for all seven weeks of the summer. Staying for the whole season really allows campers to hone their skills in their class areas, go on more wilderness trips, and means they won’t miss out on any of the big summer camp events! In addition, 7-weekers get to enjoy special events in between the 4-week and 3-week session break such as Beach Day and a day trip to the Great Escape amusement park. Some campers choose to register for the first 4 weeks, and then decide later to upgrade to the full 7-week session, and that’s just fine by us. If you’re unsure whether your camper would like to be a 4-weeker or a 7-weeker, don’t worry…it only takes a mouse-click for us to change a 4-weeker to a 7-weeker. Feel free to discuss that option with your child if you think they could benefit from a longer session!

4-WEEK SESSION JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 29, 2019 Standard Rate: $6,400
The first half of the summer consists of our 4-week overnight program. The 4-week session allows campers to learn new skills and take part in a variety of classes. The session includes many themed events which lead up to our “Color Wars”, in which campers don their colors of Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, or Green and see which team will come out on top: these games have been a camper favorite for decades!

“ROOKIE CAMP” (2 Weeks, for ages 6-10 only)
JULY 1, 2018 – JULY 14, 2018 Standard Rate: $3,200

For the first two weeks of the 4-Week session, we run a two week “Rookie Camp” for first-time campers between the ages of 6 to 9 years old. We feel this short session is a good bite-sized introduction to summer camp, and also allows campers the flexibility to stay on for the remainder of the 4-week session if they get bitten by the “summer camp bug” and want to stay longer!

3-WEEK SESSION (Overnight) JULY 31, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $4,600

The 3-Week session offers two options to campers: a traditional overnight summer camp program, or a day-camp option. The 3-Week session is full of fun classes Mondays – Fridays, with special events planned on the weekends. It’s also the session in which our famous GREEK GAMES take place, as well as some of our campers’ all-time favorite camp events like the “Pok-O-Palooza” music festival, the Jack’s Cup sailing race, Casino Night, and the Pok-O County Fair.

3-WEEK SESSION (Day Camp)* JULY 21, 2018 – AUGUST 18, 2018 Standard Rate: $2,100 for a first-time camper.

Our day campers attend camp from approximately 9am to about 5pm Mondays through Fridays. Just like overnight campers, they get to create their own class schedule from a list of over 30 program offerings. They are, of course, assigned to a cabin and counselor and have their own bunks so they have a comfortable spot to relax during Rest Hour. Day campers also have the option of staying the night for an evening activity or program if they wish, and we can easily make those arrangements, although a small fee may apply. They also have the added bonus of being able to stay overnight the last week of camp for no additional fee!

CAMP FACILITIES: Students live in wooden cabins equipped with bunks, electricity, and limited storage space. Students are housed four to six per cabin (8:1; Counselor:Camper). The campus includes a charming performance lodge, outdoor Shed stage, practice building, and several rehearsal cabins and practice spaces. The campus includes a private lakefront natural sand beach with canoes, paddle boards, and kayaks. Indoor plumbing and modern shower and bathing facilities are adjacent to the cabins. Luzerne Music Center's grounds also include a softball field, full basketball court, volleyball court, dining hall, and administrative building.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 1980 by Philadelphia Orchestra cellist Bert Phillips and Steinway pianist Toby Blumenthal, Luzerne Music Center aims to provide world-class music instruction for passionate young people in a summer camp environment regardless of their financial circumstance. Musicians ages 9 to 18 come from all over the world to train at LMC's campus located in the foothills of New York’s Adirondack Park.

Since inception, LMC has maintained strong relations with musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra and New York City Ballet. Both Junior and Senior session campers regularly visit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center to enjoy world-class performances by these ensembles, among others. Each August, LMC invites several Philadelphia Orchestra musicians to campus for a one-week residency, which includes a side-by-side orchestral reading, masterclasses, and sectionals.

At LMC, campers study music theory and rhythm, train in small and large ensembles, receive daily chamber music coaching, and weekly private lessons. Our campers perform on- and off-campus throughout the summer, and train in a nurturing environment balanced by hard work and enriching group activities.

All staff participate in an intensive week-long residential training that includes safety management, working with children in group settings, leading activities, camp policies and procedures, and child abuse prevention. Necessary staff members are lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certified as well as other nationally-recognized certifications. YMCA Camp Weona takes the health and safety of our campers very seriously.

We have a 6:1 camper-to-leader ratio which assures close supervision of all activities. During the summer session a fulltime health officer lives on site and a physician is on call 24 hours a day. Also, YMCA Camp Weona is certified by the New York State Health Department and has periodic inspections throughout the summer. YMCA Camp Weona is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). ACA is a non-profit organization that member camps join voluntarily. For nearly two decades, YMCA Camp Weona has been a member of this organization and on a semi-annual basis is visited by ACA, which verifies that we are maintaining over 300 standards of operation in camping. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Building on the tradition of “super” leadership, the YMCA believes in growing our future leaders as well as enhancing our teen population’s skill base. Leaders in Training (LIT) is geared toward teens who are ready to test their leadership skills while working with younger campers. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At YMCA Camp Weona, we believe that every child should have the chance to experience camp. The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign provides financial assistance to families within our community who are in need of financial support and may not have the ability to pay the full fee. Financial assistance is determined based on a thorough review of an application and a personal interview with the applicant. Assistance will be granted on the basis of financial need resulting from low income, emergency expenses or other circumstances that inhibit an individual’s ability to pay a prescribed fee. As part of our mission, we teach campers responsibility with an opportunity to Earn Their Way to Camp. At YMCA Camp Weona, our rustic cabins provide a home for small groups of no more than 12 campers who live together and attend daily activities as a group. Cabin groups are made up of either boys or girls entering similar grades and registered for the same camp program. Groups of 8-12 campers of similar gender and age attend daily activities together as a cabin with their leaders. The intention is to foster a “family-like” atmosphere within the group. Menu - Our back-to-basics menu is prepared each day in the dining hall. The YMCA offers items that children enjoy in their daily life that help sustain the additional energy needed during long days at camp. Our food service staff prides themselves on the fact that there are no trans fats in our meals. Special consideration is given for children who have allergies or prefer a vegetarian option.

Cabin/Bunk Mates - Campers may request a bunk mate within one school grade of each other, are of the same gender, and are registered for the same program. A bunk mate request is included in the parent pack and must be returned three weeks prior to attendance. Requests made after the three-week deadline may not be honored. In order to promote inclusion within each cabin, only one bunk mate request per child will be honored. (Bunk mates must be reciprocal – ex. John picks Tim and Tim must pick John.) Groups of four or more may be split to promote new camper inclusion.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Surprise Lake Camp has a rich history. It was founded in 1902 by the Educational Alliance to provide a summer vacation for Jewish boys from Main Building - 1920 the tenements of Manhattan's Lower East Side. In its first season, it had six tents for 25 campers and five counselors. One of the first campers was Eddie Cantor, who, upon achieving success as an entertainer, became one of the camp's most ardent supporters. Since then Surprise Lake Camp has served thousands of young people, many of whom have achieved prominence, among them, entertainer Neil Diamond, talk show host Larry King, actor Jerry Stiller, and former New York Attorney General Robert Abrams.

In 1911, the 92nd Street Y became partners in running the camp, and the camp office was located at the Y for many years. In 1917, when the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies was created, Surprise Lake Camp was one of the initial member agencies. The camp then became incorporated as a New York not-for-profit in 1920, eventually leading to complete independence from its founding agencies. Over the years, Surprise Lake Camp has been substantially rebuilt three times. In addition, its clientele and program have evolved as the Jewish community has changed. Originally established to provide summer vacations in the country for poor boys from the lower East Side, the camp has also gone through periods when it was dedicated to feeding undernourished boys, operated as a year-round camp which included formal education during the winter, committed to the personal development of children using a social group work model, and run as a general co-ed summer camp with special emphasis on scholarships.

As our 5 year old campers transition from Stepping Stones to Main Camp, they will begin to utilize our traditional-sized facilities while participating in enhanced tennis instruction and other athletic activities, American Red Cross swim instruction/recreational swim, nature, music, creative & performing arts and many other exciting activities! Our 5 year old program also features a 'Mini Club' period which allows each group to select from a list of their favorite activities to participate in each day.

Our 5 year olds also participate in our unique, values-based, STARFISH program. The STARFISH program not only supports our camp's mission of teaching children the skills of making and keeping friends while building self-esteem; it creates a safe environment that makes accomplishing that mission possible. Our STARFISH program assists in teaching, promoting and recognizing the values of Sportsmanship, Tolerance, Appreciation, Respect, Friendship, Integrity, Sensitivity and Helpfulness.

6 & 7 Year Olds
Our 6 & 7 year olds take full advantage of our famous 'Club Elective' program on a daily basis, allowing our campers to customize their schedules with their favorite activities! Club options include enhanced tennis instruction and competitive play, musical theatre production, other athletic clinics, innovative studio art projects, and many more!

8 Year Olds
In addition to participating in our great range of traditional activities, our 8 year old campers get the chance to experience the excitement and spirit of teamwork associated with our 'Sports Leagues'. Sports Leagues begin on an every other day basis, alternating with a SECOND 'Club Elective' period. League Teams are divided equally, with the emphasis being put upon good sportsmanship and building self-esteem. Campers may also participate in one of our 'Showtime' musical theatre productions, cook, swim, dance, explore nature, and take advantage everything that our camp program has to offer!

9 & 10 Year Olds / 11 & 12 Year Olds
We recognize that our older campers are looking for a more innovative and customizable summer experience so we give it to them! Our 'Club + Sports Leagues' program allows these senior groups to tailor their summer experience for up to two hours each day. Additionally, these older groups have "flex" periods in their schedule throughout the week which allow their group to once again choose between a list of available activities to participate in. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a lake, three swimming pools, large ball fields, a garden and a farm, a playground and separate courts for tennis, basketball, street hockey and volley ball. Our Outdoor Adventure program has special locations for climbing walls, obstacle/rope courses and zip lines. We have a series of individual workshops and studios for dance, music, theater, ceramics, wood, graphics, sculpture, photography, weaving and art.

These provide the opportunity for every child to discover the special satisfactions of creativity. There is a fully equipped indoor gymnastics center and a fencing shed. Special facilities feature excellent instruction in tennis and archery, fencing, track and field. There are also dormitories with bathrooms, where children store their belongings and change clothes. And, of course, there is a kitchen, dining rooms, and a well-equipped infirmary. If it rains, all our workshops, studios and covered facilities allow for continuing programs.

CAMP FACILITIES: Keuka College, located on the shores of Keuka Lake, boasts air-conditioned dorms, all-inclusive dining, the beautiful Norton Chapel for performances, rehearsal spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a library, all overlooking the water. Swimming and boating is supervised by life guards, all campers are supervised by trained counseling staff in small ratios.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students entering grades 6-9 will learn, perform, and grow musically; experience the beauty and recreation of the Finger Lakes; and form enduring friendships with students from near and far.

Students are placed into small ensembles based on experience and are coached in technique, and practice habits, all led by distinguished faculty from the Eastman School of Music, the Eastman Community Music School, and members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. CAMP FACILITIES: Each of our cabins is equipped with complete bathrooms/ showers, electricity, porches and plenty of space. (No bunk beds!) Cabins are designed to hold between 5-8 campers with a minimum of 3 staff members living in each cabin so that we can maintain our 2:1 camper counselor ratio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located along a secluded nine-mile lake in the Adirondacks of New York State is a private/ independent seven-week residential camp for 130 children from across the United States and around the world. Camp Northwood is oriented toward children with low self-esteem, immature social skill development, high functioning autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges in need of a structured and supportive, socially therapeutic summer experience. Northwood's program, developed and supervised by an outstanding staff of special educators, focuses on the development of independence, social skills, self-image and the maintenance of academic skills.

Each Northwood camper participates in a fully non-competitive, socially oriented, main-streamed styled camp program. Our 6 & 7 year olds take full advantage of our famous 'Club Elective' program on a daily basis, allowing our campers to customize their schedules with their favorite activities! Club options include our famous 'Showtime' musical theatre production, athletic clinics, innovative studio art projects, and many more! In addition to participating in our great range of traditional activities, our 8 year old campers get the chance to experience the excitement and spirit of teamwork associated with our 'Sports Leagues'. Sports Leagues begin on an every other day basis, alternating with a SECOND 'Club Elective' period. League Teams are divided equally with emphasis being good sportsmanship and building self-esteem. Campers may also participate in one of our 'Showtime' musical theatre productions, cook, swim, dance, explore nature, and take advantage everything that our camp program has to offer!

At Hampton Country Day Camp, we recognize that our Seniors are looking for a more innovative and customizable summer experience so we give it to them! Our 'Club + Sports Leagues' program allows Seniors to tailor their summer experience for up to two hours each day. Additionally, Seniors have "Flex" periods in their schedule throughout the week which allow their group to once again choose between a list of available activities to participate in. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Bonjour NY is a French immersion summer camp located in the heart of New York City. We offer weekly registration from 1 to 9 weeks. Bonjour NY was elected "best camp attended in NY" by our families, is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a NYC licensed.

Our campers spend a lot of time outdoors playing sports, water games, swimming, going out on fun trips to local farms, making bread at local French bakeries.... The staff engages in French only with the campers through live games, songs, arts...

CAMP FACILITIES: Our historic facility was built in 1929 and is home to a recently renovated 145-seat proscenium theater where campers rehearse and perform showcases for friends and family. Campers swim in our facility’s heated pool under close supervision from swim instructors, camp counselors and lifeguards. Visual arts activities occur in the Arts Annex, and campers utilize multi-purpose rooms throughout the YMCA for instruction and activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Arts Camp's 2018 theme is ART AS ENERGY. "Giving children tools on how to interpret their experience in a body, helps empower them to make decisions. They learn to listen to themselves and direct their energy in a conscious way that will allow them to settle into themselves and their authentic power." (Leanne Holitza). This summer, we will focus on 4 energetic centers in the body and how these energy centers may inspire artistic expression, creativity, and community. We will begin at the naval center with an exploration of courage, determination, and commitment. Next, we move to the heart to explore harmony, peace, love, and compassion. Third, we move to the throat center to explore communication, self-expression, listening, and truth. Finally, we land on the 3rd eye, where campers will meditate on intuition, vision, wisdom, balance, and curiousity.

On Thursdays at 4 PM of weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8, each group performs in an informal showcase for family and friends in the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater. Throughout the summer in all 4 art forms, students explore age-appropriate curriculum that celebrates the dance, theater, music, and visual art as it relates to the summer's over-arching program theme. In addition to arts classes, all campers swim twice a week, go on arts-related field trips around NYC, and, weather permitting, enjoy Central Park for lunch, fresh air, yoga, and team-building creative activities.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Our summer camp is only as good as the staff it hires. That is why we search the globe for the most experienced and enthusiastic staff members we can find. From England to Australia and California to Maine, our staff consists of about fifteen different nations and over twenty states. Everyone comes together with one goal in mind; to make sure our campers have the best summer of their lives!

We are looking for general counselors, specialist counselors, leadership positions, and support staff for the upcoming summer. General counselors spend the day with their division of campers; guiding, supporting, and supervising them as they go from activity to activity.

As a specialist, you concentrate on a specific area, passing on your knowledge to our campers to ensure they are learning or mastering that skill. The leadership roles we fill each summer range from department heads and group leaders to medical staff and office assistants. Lastly, our support staff members work behind the scenes as kitchen staff, maintenance workers, groundskeepers, and housekeepers to ensure the day to day operations of camp are handled.

Generally, most of our counselors are aged between nineteen and twenty-five, while our leadership staff are over twenty-five and have worked their way up the camp ladder. For a complete list, view our staff positions.

CAMP FACILITIES: Six camper villages with cabins, lake for boating & swimming, athletic fields, volleyball & basketball courts, archery range, high ropes course, water trampoline, program buildings for fine and performing arts, dining pavilion, hiking trails.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camper choose activities daily with the guidance of counselors. Small, caring camp community that appreciates the uniqueness of each camper. Please visit website for details. 2, 4, 6 or 8 week sessions. Transportation provided from designated locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Monday to Friday sleep-away camp and home on the weekends for family time!

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Two year CIT program campers entering 11 and 12 grades.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Flexible payment schedules are offered.
